***Flag Day***

Caddo District NSDAR Meeting


The Arkadelphia Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution attended the Caddo District meeting held on June 14, 2008 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The meeting, hosted by the John Percifull Chapter at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, celebrates Flag Day.

The Call to Order was made by District Director, Virginia White, and the program and workshop entitled "State Conference" was presented by State Regent Fern Taylor. Mary Lee Schultz, Regent-elect, presented the "Themes and Goals 2008-2010".

Mr and Mrs Dennis Zymboly presented a special program on the "Genealogy of the American Flag" that featured many different styles and changes that have been part of the evolution of our nation's banner.

After a luncheon the business meeting was conducted and new officers for 2008-2010 were installed by Fern Taylor. Director is Martha Koon of Hot Springs, Director-elect is June Eubanks of Hot Springs, Secretary is Connie Thomas of Benton, Treasurer is Louise Davis of Texarkana, and Sarah Dixon of Arkadelphia will serve as Historian.

Arkadelphia was represented by (L-R) Jackie Downs, Sarah "Sally" Dixon, State Regent Mary Lee Schultz, Cynthia Keyton, Jeannie Curry, Tommie Anderson and Jewel Vincent (seated).
